Average Positive Atlanta, GA

My journey began with an initial video interview with a recruiter, focused mostly on my background and how it connected to the role. After that, I had a casual video chat with the hiring manager and the team lead.

That round was more conversational than procedural: they asked what I knew about the specific position and then dug into my technical abilities through questions about my past experience. It didn’t feel like there was a heavy coding component in that stage—more like they were trying to map my experience to what the team needed.

I started with a recruiter/HR-style first round that felt fairly standard: I talked through my background and experience, and we kept it to the usual “tell me about yourself” territory plus a few technical topics. That call lasted about half an hour, and the tone was normal—not overly formal, not particularly deep.

After that, I ended up facing an assessment and then a longer technical interview. The technical portion was about 90 minutes total, with the first part centered on general questions and my past experience. The later stretch shifted into more hands-on, technical territory—there was live coding where I worked through logic and bug-fixing style prompts, plus design-related discussion tied to the coding. Some questions also leaned theoretical, requiring problem solving and calculations based on what I’d brought up from my resume.
