Difficult Negative United States

My journey started with online self-assessment work that took a while to complete—first a shorter screen and then, after I cleared it, I was asked to do another assessment that ran for over an hour. A couple days later I received an auto-rejection email with no real follow-up or personal contact, which honestly felt abrupt because the earlier steps had seemed like they were moving me forward.

In the background, HR-related communication was a big factor in how I experienced the process overall. In one part of the flow, I was told the online assessment needed to be completed before the phone interview, and the HR conversation itself was transparent and open, with questions answered clearly. The broader pattern I saw was consistent too: online tests first, then a decision on whether I passed, and if I did, HR and then further interviews would follow. Even with that structure, I ultimately didn’t make it to the later rounds because of the second assessment step.

Difficult Neutral Chicago, IL

I started through a talent acquisition specialist I met on a job board. She set up an online interview first, and then I had a 50-minute phone interview after that. The biggest factor was the pacing: each stage was separated by about a week, so the process moved slowly between steps.

Because the timeline stretched out like that, I spent a lot of time waiting for the next round rather than feeling momentum. In the end, I didn’t get an offer, and the most memorable part was how delayed everything felt between the early stages.
