After the recruiter touchpoint, I moved into an aptitude-based start. My first round was an online test focused on logical reasoning and quick math, with a tight time limit for each part (one section had you solving a large number of questions quickly, and the speed-maths portion was even more calculation-heavy). The questions were very “get it right under time” rather than anything coding-related.
Once I cleared the assessment, I was shortlisted for interviews that blended technical and people skills. The technical side leaned into basic market and trading knowledge and my own familiarity with the field, with mental-math checks showing up alongside finance-focused questioning. HR came through with questions about my strengths and weaknesses, what I wanted from the role, and how I planned my future (including how I thought about higher education). Some of the discussion also probed fit and confidence, and there were situation-style prompts to see how I communicated my thinking.
