The first part of my process felt pretty normal at the start, but what made it memorable was how the later stages played out. I had a screen and then moved into a superday that brought multiple interviewers into the loop, including a director and an analyst. A lot of the conversation was behavioral, but there were also straightforward technical checks embedded in the day.
At one point, the interview questions were sharp enough that I felt genuinely overprepared—like digging back into old accounting and financial fundamentals was what kept me from getting rattled. There was also pressure embedded in the way they tested fit: they wanted to understand how I performed under stress and how interested I was in the work. For me, finance basics like interest rates came up as part of the technical side.

My journey started with applying online and quickly moving into an email screen. There was a weird kind of timing where the original position was filled, but I still got considered for something adjacent soon after, and the process moved with good momentum.
I ended up doing two manager/team-lead style interviews, and the whole thing felt genuinely positive. People discussed the role and my past experience in a way that felt collaborative rather than confrontational, and communication was strong enough that I could track what was happening. Another time, the process felt similarly fast: a phone briefing, then a first round and a final round with two people, and even some small hospitality that made the last step feel more welcoming.
