Average Positive Plano, TX

After a recruiter touchpoint, I ended up doing a WebEx technical screen followed by another technical round that also mixed in behavioral and problem-solving. Both parts leaned hard into Java fundamentals: I remember being expected to know the basics well, including things like primitives and object-oriented concepts, and the second round also tested how I thought through technical problems rather than just whether I could speak generally.

What surprised me was how much the conversation pulled toward cloud specifics, especially AWS services. I had enough background to discuss things at a high level, like common building blocks (for example Lambda, API Gateway, and data services such as RDS and S3), but the interviewers kept circling back to conceptual understanding rather than my resume stories alone.
