After I replied to the initial application, the process felt pretty straightforward and well paced. Over about three weeks, I went through a recruiter round, then a technical interview, followed by a culture interview, and finally a manager interview. The questions and format stayed consistent enough that I always knew what was coming next.
Overall it didn’t feel overly complex—more like they were trying to see how I thought and how I worked with others. I didn’t end up getting an offer, but the experience left me with the sense that the steps were fairly direct and the timing was predictable. The whole thing just moved at an organized clip, without any big surprises.

My journey started with an initial recruiter screen where we talked through my background and what the role expected, along with how the rest of the interview would be structured. About that time, I also got the sense the process was built to reflect actual engineering work, not just abstract trivia.
The next step was a live coding challenge where I had to render an ASCII graph from a set of x/y points, and I had to keep explaining my reasoning while I coded. After that, the final loop turned into three back-to-back interviews. The hiring manager focused on teamwork and ownership—how I handled mistakes and conflict in past roles. Then a director interview pushed more on engineering judgment: balancing pragmatism with quality, knowing when to change direction, and communicating decisions across teams. The last interview was system design with a platform-style framing, with follow-ups touching security, malicious users, regional availability, active-active approaches, and how to avoid data duplication. It was challenging but felt fair, and the questions mapped closely to real situations I’d expect on a team.
