Average Negative Romania

I applied for a Java/Kotlin backend role, did the technical coding portion, and felt good about the work itself. I solved the problem without issues and focused on walking through my approach out loud, calling out edge cases as I went. What threw me off was the interviewer’s lack of engagement—almost no reactions or follow-up, and it never felt like they were tracking my thinking. There were no questions to clarify anything, and I left feeling like I was speaking into silence rather than getting feedback on whether I was on the right track.

After that round, the process dragged out for about three weeks with zero updates. Eventually I received a decline with no feedback, even though the technical part had gone well. The whole experience made the already stressful format feel even worse, mostly because I never had any signal about what they were noticing or how close I was. I didn’t get the communication or closure I expected, and honestly it left a pretty sour impression of how the process is run.

Average Positive Prague

After applying for the Software Engineer role, I started with an OA (online assessment) and then moved into a sequence of rounds that felt pretty structured. The assessment included algorithm-heavy topics, and once I got through that, the interviews shifted into short, focused rounds rather than anything open-ended.

On the coding side, I saw leetcode-style questions ranging from easy to medium. The interviews also leaned into algorithms and system design, plus parallel programming. The pattern I noticed was that interviewers would begin with a simpler version of the problem and then gradually add features or tighter restrictions as the conversation progressed, which kept the rounds from feeling like a single static puzzle.
