How many rounds are in Ericsson’s interview process for a QA Automation Engineer?

Candidates typically go through four stages: HR Screening, a Technical Assessment, a Hiring Manager Discussion, and Peer Discussions. The reported interview count is 6, with most difficulty rated as average. The process is described as conversational and collaborative, with technical discussion early and behavioral elements alongside it.

What topics does Ericsson test for a QA Automation Engineer role?

Commonly tested topics include test automation (QA automation engineering), Python, debugging and error finding, and automation engineering fundamentals. You should also be ready for test case design and failure handling in QA, plus how you used the technology stack in previous projects. Data structures are also listed among the top topics.

How does Ericsson evaluate troubleshooting and debugging for QA Automation Engineers?

Ericsson expects you to explain your methodology for identifying errors and debugging complex systems. The public sample questions include “Troubleshooting Complex Systems,” which aligns with how candidates are evaluated on finding root causes. Be ready to walk through your approach, not just the tools you used.

What Python and test automation experience should I emphasize for Ericsson QA Automation Engineer interviews?

Focus on your hands-on experience with Python-based testing frameworks and the specific testing frameworks you used in past projects. Interviewers also look for how you design automated frameworks, including the architecture of your previous test suites. You should be able to discuss the technologies and tools from your own projects and why you chose them.

What behavioral and communication questions come up for Ericsson QA Automation Engineers?

Expect questions about handling failure or negative feedback, managing multitasking when multiple features require testing, and communicating technical blockers to non-technical stakeholders. Peer Discussions also assess collaboration and communication skills. The role preparation guidance emphasizes articulating past contributions and demonstrating a collaborative mindset.

What compensation range can I expect for Ericsson QA Automation Engineer roles?

Compensation varies by level and location, and the only pay guidance here is that candidates reported $185k base and $300k total for similar roles. If your resume is aligned with the QA automation and Python testing topics Ericsson emphasizes, you can use that as your target frame while negotiating based on your level and location.
