After the recruiter call, I ended up doing a technical screen where the questions leaned heavily into Python and automation thinking. I worked through how Python concepts like lists, decorators, generators, and the differences between iterators and generators show up in real code. They also asked about PyTest fixtures, and then we moved into automation framework design—how I’d structure things end to end, including CI/CD pipeline considerations.

The coding part felt very practical but still a bit algorithmic: I had to handle file sorting and then work through a maximum subarray style problem. Overall it felt like an average-difficulty technical evaluation with a clear focus on test automation fundamentals, not just “how to write a test” but how to reason about reliability and structure. I didn’t end up getting an offer, but the technical part matched the role more closely than some other processes I’ve seen.
