Difficult Negative London, England

My technical interview was a live code pairing session with a strict one-hour window. The three interviewers were genuinely knowledgeable, helpful, and kind, which made it easier to get through the mechanics of the task.

The hard part was the evaluation itself. The format felt like it was copied from some generic test site rather than measuring real development skills. I was given a console.log output and a couple functions, and my job was to write the missing functions above them so the code would work. It turned into 15–20 JavaScript tasks that looked basic at first but were oddly tricky, and the whole thing felt more like theoretical problem-solving than building for realistic product scenarios.
