I made it pretty far—up to the fourth technical round. The sequence felt like multiple technical screens building on each other until I reached a C++-focused interview where I got a C++ problem question. After that, the conversation shifted toward my personal projects, which was a nice change of pace compared to the problem-solving.
By the time I got to the earlier rounds, I’d already had an HR call as part of the process, and overall the structure felt like a steady ramp into more technical depth. Even though I reached the later stages, I didn’t end up moving forward after that fourth round. I left feeling like I was close on content and readiness, but the process still tightened at the technical stage.

I started with an internal recruiter reach-out and it quickly turned into a hiring push for a very senior trade support type of role. My first call was with HR and it felt like it went well, and then I met the hiring manager. That interview focused mostly on my background and on learning about the team and what the role actually looked like. It felt a little unfocused on their side, but overall it was still a decent conversation.
After that, the role I’d initially interviewed for didn’t work out and I was told they were looking for someone even more senior, likely from a comparable trading environment. Months later, I saw the same org still had an opening, so I reached back out and there was mutual interest again. I ended up going through three interviews back-to-back during the pre-holiday stretch and felt good about the people I met. The recruiter also told me hiring from my location would be fine, and that hearing back could be delayed.
