After a math/probability test, I moved into an HR screen and then into multiple interviews across different teams. Most of the conversations stayed friendly, and the overall impression was that the process was trying to gauge my intuition around probability and how options ideas connect to payoff thinking.
What stood out was how options theory was handled. I was told that I didn’t need to have the full theory memorized for interviews, but later I ran into an interview segment that essentially zeroed in on options theory and grilled me on it more than I expected. I also saw the same theme in a separate round where options pricing fundamentals and greeks came up, along with questions about how those ideas get used in practice.

Easy Negative Hong Kong
My process started with a very direct approach from the top, and it honestly felt less like a hiring screen and more like an interrogation about the market. The questions weren’t really about my background or what I could do—they were focused on what the firm was doing, where competitors were making money, and how strategies were being executed.
The vibe was extremely “find out what you can,” and it came with the clear feeling that they weren’t trying to evaluate me as a candidate in the normal way. I had the impression they were pulling in people from other firms just to understand what competitors were up to, rather than to assess fit or potential. It was unsettling enough that I walked away without sharing more than I had to.
