My process started with a standard recruiter phone call where we went over my background and the technologies I’d used in my current job. After that, I had an online coding test on HackerRank. The prompt was a DSA-style challenge with multiple big lists, and the goal was to retrieve useful information in the most performant way.

Next came systems design. I had to describe a complex system I’d worked with recently and then draw it on a whiteboard while explaining tradeoffs. That was followed by an OOP round where the focus was on designing classes for a proposed system, using a class diagram style of output. The overall difficulty felt like it wasn’t just about coding—it was about structuring the thinking and communicating the design clearly.

After a recruiter call, about a week later I joined a technical Zoom interview with LeetCode-style questions. It was 4 questions, ranging from easy to medium, and the pacing felt like I had to keep momentum the whole time. I got through that part, and then the process moved into a cluster of three back-to-back interviews.

The first was a team fit discussion focused on collaboration, communication, and cultural fit. After that, I had to present a significant project I’d worked on, walking through technical decisions and challenges. The last round was an object-oriented design prompt where I needed to design an architecture for a given problem.

Coding Assessment

Candidates can expect a coding assessment on platforms like HackerRank, often featuring data structures and algorithms questions that require efficient solutions under time constraints. The difficulty varies, but many report feeling pressured to complete tasks quickly, which can impact performance.
