My interview journey stretched across five rounds and started with a broad, general tech conversation on web technologies with a senior lead developer. It was a video call, and even though it went “good enough,” I could tell the interviewer was in a hurry. A bit later I moved into a system design session where I designed a URL shortener, and that part went really well—I walked through the design clearly and it landed positively.

Then it got more intense. I had an in-person front-end round where the focus was on how React works internally rather than feature implementation. I answered in a lot of depth, and it started to overwhelm the interviewer’s pace—he interrupted frequently. After that, I had another in-depth system design round, still centered on a highly utilized, low-latency multi-region URL shortener, where I worked through bottlenecks as they appeared.
