Difficult Positive Bengaluru

My experience started with some coordination issues on the recruiter side, but once I got into the interviews, the interviewers felt solid. After two rounds, I didn’t get an offer, but the structure was memorable: an AI fluency round followed by a high-level design problem.

In the AI fluency round, I was given a system-design style problem tied to where AI could be used. The scope felt significantly bigger than a typical high-level design discussion, partly because even deciding how the proposed system would attach to existing systems and data inputs was something I had to reason through within the round. The difficulty wasn’t just about producing an HLD—it was about making the integration decisions too.

After an HR call to schedule, I went into an SDE 2 loop that started with a problem-solving plus coding round. The first part felt like a quick introduction around the tech stack, and then it shifted into DSA. I was asked two standard coding questions, and the whole round was geared toward getting to working solutions rather than long open-ended discussion.

The overall vibe of this process felt pretty straightforward and focused on coding correctness and fundamentals. By the end of that round, I had a clear sense that they were primarily evaluating my DSA problem-solving in a timed format. I didn’t feel like there was any extra complexity beyond producing solid solutions for the two questions.
