This process felt way more drawn out and disorganized than I expected. It started with a recruiter screening about a week after I applied. We talked about my resume, and while they asked two questions about my background, they didn’t add much beyond what was already in the job description.
About a week later I was asked to send availability for a technical screening with the hiring manager, which was scheduled roughly two weeks out. They gave me a lot of role information, and based on that I felt like I could be a good fit—then a few days later I was asked for availability again for the technical screen. When the scheduling didn’t work with my times, I had to adjust to fit the interviewer’s slot, and that’s where things began to feel off.

After that there was an in-person technical interview at the office, and the last step was another video interview with the director of engineering. Everyone was kind and it genuinely didn’t feel like there were “gotcha” moments.
The technical round focused on work that felt relevant to what I’d be doing, and the interviewers were also understanding if I didn’t know everything off the bat.
