I applied for a Senior ServiceNow Developer role and the interview felt awkward from the start. The technical session was virtual and led by a senior engineer who kept the camera off the whole time, but still insisted I stay on camera and share my screen.
Once it began, I was pushed into live coding where I typed out GlideRecord-style queries, even though the task was pretty basic. After that came a fast, almost drill-like sequence of textbook questions. I wasn’t getting a real conversation about my background or how I think about architecture and development, despite having enterprise experience and ServiceNow certification. The pacing was aggressive, and I was interrupted whenever there was even a short pause to think. Overall, it felt disrespectful and disconnected from the value of having formal credentials.

I went in for a face-to-face interview for a .NET role at the Bangalore office. The invitation listed several steps—there was supposed to be a test/assessment and then coding, project fitment, and HR—but when I arrived, the process didn’t really follow the intent of the plan.
Getting to the site was already a mess: security wouldn’t let my vehicle onto the campus, and I couldn’t reach the recruiter in the email after multiple attempts. When I contacted another recruiter who had spoken with me, I was told to “park anywhere and come,” which wasn’t practical for someone unfamiliar with the area. After finally finding the right location, the only real stage that happened was a timed Codility assessment on my personal laptop. I was told I hadn’t cleared it, and I was asked to leave without any technical discussion, project fitment conversation, or HR interaction.
