Difficult Negative Pune

My interview timeline dragged out for a long time, and the ending felt especially confusing. The process took almost two months and included several stages. The technical rounds went pretty well, and the questions were mainly core Java and some basic distributed systems topics. The discussions felt professional, and by the final stage the hiring manager even expressed strong interest and suggested he hoped I’d choose their team.

After that, HR congratulated me on completing the process and asked for additional documents. I submitted everything, and for a while it felt like an offer was just the next step. Then, after all stages were finished and the documents were in, I was told the team decided not to proceed with an offer. No salary range had been discussed, and there wasn’t any alternative proposal or negotiation.
