The problem was a programming-style prompt about palindromes: I had to determine the 7th nearest palindrome given an integer N (with N up to 10^9). The task felt very algorithmic, and I leaned on an approach described around precomputation plus a search strategy rather than trying to brute-force from scratch.
After completing that assessment, the only thing I remember clearly was the specificity of the prompt—getting the “7th nearest palindrome” idea right was the whole point, and everything depended on implementing the right logic cleanly. It was a focused coding challenge rather than a broad test of many unrelated topics, and that made it easier to concentrate even though it still required careful thinking to handle edge cases.
