After a recruiter call, I moved on to a pair of coding assessments: an online test followed by a take-home assignment. A week or so later I started the interview rounds, which felt pretty structured—HR first, then a coding review, and finally a system design interview. The system design was my last stage, and it was framed around designing the burger distribution problem.
Everything else along the way felt professional, and the process ended with them sending me a review. I didn’t end up getting an offer, and the main feeling I was left with was that my system design didn’t match the level they were trying to hire for.

The one part that didn’t land the way they wanted was the system design interview. I was asked to design something specific around a burger distribution process, but I could tell during the conversation that they weren’t satisfied with the level I was able to reach for what they were hiring for. Even though the rest of the process went well, that system design stage was what ultimately stopped me. Looking back, it was a good reminder of how much weight they put on that final design conversation.
