My process was pretty straightforward. I started with a general phone call, then moved into a video call where we went over requirements and I discussed examples from past work. I covered prior projects and walked through scenarios involving clients, and the conversation stayed grounded in the kind of work the role would involve.
After that, I met with multiple members of the team on video. The overall feel was that they were mapping my experience to what they needed and using the conversations to understand how I would operate in practice. I ended up not receiving an offer, but the interview didn’t feel chaotic or unfair—more like a clean, role-focused screening.

After I applied, I got an HR-style conversation first—mostly behavioral questions and a quick walkthrough of my resume. I also remember there being some software-concept discussion, though the tone felt fairly casual compared to what came next. A few days later, I had a technical phone screen focused on control system knowledge.
The next step was a phone conversation with someone from the controls side about my resume and my experience, with fairly basic control theory questions mixed in. I tried to relate everything back to what I’d done in my projects, and the questions stayed grounded—control systems modeling and design concepts came up, along with embedded-systems awareness. I felt it was only moderate in difficulty: not impossible, but definitely more technical than the early screening.
