Al principio mi proceso no fue tan duro como imaginaba. Tuve comunicaciones y una conversación en inglés, y también una parte técnica bastante amplia; en mi experiencia era difícil saber qué tanto “encajaba” con un único tema porque iban tocando bastante terreno. En general me sentí cómodo respondiendo, y la entrevista tuvo un aire bastante amable.
Pero hubo dos cosas que me marcaron: por un lado, la etapa técnica y los temas podían variar mucho según el momento, lo que hacía el conjunto algo impredecible. Por otro lado, el componente de seguimiento con reclutamiento fue el verdadero punto flojo. En mi caso, la coordinación se sintió mal: me faltó feedback relevante y acabé con sensación de quedar en pausa, incluso después de escribir para pedir actualizaciones. También me ocurrió algo parecido cuando el reclutador volvió a contactar con una vacante nueva que sonaba muy parecida, sin cerrar bien la comunicación anterior.

Mi entrevista técnica fue el tipo “grueling” que se siente diseñado para estresar el conocimiento. Me preguntaron muchas cosas técnicas y fueron profundizando hasta encontrar un punto débil. No era solo verificar si sabía, sino comprobar cuánto aguantaba cuando empujaban más: si dudaba en un concepto, la conversación se movía hacia ahí y seguía.
El proceso en general me resultó difícil, con esa intención clara de cavar hasta detectar lagunas. Lo que más me quedó fue la sensación de que había poca tolerancia a respuestas vagas. No conseguí avanzar a una oferta, pero fue de esas experiencias que te hacen ver exactamente qué teoría y qué fundamentos necesitaban estar sólidos. Recuerdo que salí pensando que había que preparar la parte teórica con mucho rigor, porque si no, el “dig until you find a weak spot” termina pasándote factura.
