Average Negative Massy, Ile-de-France

After applying through a consultancy, I went through the usual back-and-forth: the offer details came over, my CV got sent in, and then I was asked to book time once they decided I was in the running. The pace felt structured rather than chaotic, and once I was scheduled, it moved toward an in-person onboarding-style flow. When a decision came, it was communicated with either a confirmation to move forward or a clear email if I wasn’t selected.

The process itself felt formal and professional. I remember a personality-based assessment with scenarios from everyday work situations, which aimed to check fit and how I thought in different professional contexts. After that, I had a first HR conversation focused on getting to know me, and I also had another HR touchpoint to validate the fit and talk about starting details, like the date I wanted to begin. The whole timeline could stretch out—there was a delay long enough that it ended up taking about a month and a half from the first interview to the point where an offer was made—so I felt like I was waiting more than I wanted.

Easy Negative Singapore

I interviewed for a contract-based role, and the HR side was responsive right up until the technical scheduling. After a reschedule, the interview itself went smoothly and felt fairly professional. The technical discussion took me through the fundamentals: I explained OOP concepts with examples, compared MySQL with MongoDB, and clarified the difference between git merge and git rebase and when you’d pick each. We also did a simple Leetcode-style coding task (Reverse String) and I had to write an SQL query.

Once the technical interview was finished, I did make it to the next step: there was an interview with the IT manager that leaned heavily behavioral, focused on how I’d work and communicate rather than the coding. That round didn’t lead anywhere for me, and there weren’t any follow-up emails afterwards, but I also didn’t pursue it further because the role wasn’t a strong fit for my interests.
