I went through a process that started with a recruiter chat and quickly turned into interviews that felt more connected to practical work than abstract puzzles. The recruiter call covered my background and expectations, and then I was moved into a frontend-focused coding challenge. That round leaned into JavaScript and React topics, and I also had a UI design discussion that bridged into broader “system basics” before the conversation shifted into behavioral and team fit.
In parallel, I ran into a very different technical experience that also came after the initial steps: a more implementation-heavy screen on data access in a rolling time window. The interviewer didn’t give much context for the problem and even struggled with follow-ups when I tried to clarify inputs and requirements. I pushed through anyway—getting a working first-pass solution early and spending the rest of the time refactoring for performance—but I left that interview with a negative impression. The inconsistency was hard to reconcile with the rest of the process.
