After a recruiter call from Colonial, my interview happened pretty quickly and felt casual right from the start. I spoke with HR, and most of the conversation turned into me asking questions, because I felt like they weren’t spending much time walking through the role itself. Even so, the tone was friendly, and the overall scheduling and setup didn’t feel difficult.
During the Zoom portion, they explained the general expectations of the job and how the compensation works, but the pay structure left me a little uncertain. It sounded commission-based, and I remember trying to pin down what it meant in practice and how it would affect earnings. They also asked the usual early fit questions—things like my background in sales and whether I had the personality they were looking for. What stood out most was how light the process felt conversationally, contrasted with how important the commission details were.
