Average Positive Boston, MA

I went through a pretty classic CarGurus-style sequence: a recruiter screen first, then technical rounds focused on how I’d work with data and problem-solving. After the initial call, I stepped into questions that centered on fetching and displaying data from APIs and broader debugging-style thinking—mostly around interpreting input, transforming it, and getting the right output. There were also spots where the technical work turned into array manipulation and other short structured coding problems rather than anything overly sprawling.

The fit and communication side came up a lot too. I had behavioral conversations embedded alongside technical assessment, and I remember one recruiter-to-manager flow where I talked through my experience and alignment with the role, followed by more technical discussion with engineers. In one technical flow, the questions started to look like practical design concepts and short-answer checks, then shifted into a simple two-pointer style task.
