Easy Positive Boston, MA

I started with an outreach from recruiting and quickly moved into a recruiter call that felt surprisingly candid. We talked through my background and the recruiter was open about timing and where I was relative to an internal candidate. I didn’t get an offer right then, but I stayed in the process as the role cycled—about a month and a half later the position reopened and the recruiter remembered me. From there, communication stayed steady, with feedback and clear expectations after each stage.

After that, I went through a fast-moving sequence of interviews with sales leadership and then management. The overall feel was structured but not cold: questions centered on my sales experience and fit, and the conversations had enough room to sound like a real discussion rather than an interrogation. I also appreciated how comfortable the team was with me asking what to expect and taking notes between rounds so I could prep properly.

My early screening didn’t go very far, mostly because of mismatch and an unsettling feel that something bigger was off. I had a phone screening that was fairly casual and straightforward, focused on my experience and then opening up time for me to ask about culture and the job. I liked that I could get answers directly, but it stalled once salary wasn’t going to work for me.

Other parts of what I ran into outside the screening reinforced that impression. There were comments I’d heard about a micro-management culture, and my own sense was that the process I was being pulled into wasn’t organized in a way that felt respectful. Overall, the interviews didn’t give me confidence that the role fit would be aligned.
