After the HR call, I had a technical screen where the focus really felt split between “technical” and “business problem-solving.” I started with a Code test that mainly checked SQL and Excel data management, and then I moved into a data challenge project where I had to work through analysis and present what I found. The whole process took me around two months from start to finish, which surprised me—I kept waiting for the next step and it stretched out longer than I expected.
Then came Power Day, and it ended up being structured but not as adversarial as I’d feared. It was described like a discussion, but I still had the sense they were watching how I approached evaluation. Power Day had four rounds: a data challenge portion, two case interviews, and a job-fit style behavioral component. By the time I reached the final business case rounds, the problems felt extended from earlier material, and that’s where I ran into trouble—I ended up failing the last case segment.

Average Negative McLean, VA
After a recruiter screen, I went into an online technical test and then a structured sequence of rounds that felt more business-heavy than advertised. The test included one basic SQL question along with a larger set of multiple-choice items focused on data manipulation. The first interview round blended business case questions with a very quick SQL component, and I also had easy LeetCode-style technical questions in a later technical round.
The mismatch for me came during the longest business case segment—a two-hour business case that felt like an extended version of the earlier business round. It could get tricky if I hadn’t seen that style before, and I ultimately failed that final business case round. What surprised me was that across the interview day, most of the time went into business cases that didn’t align tightly with SQL/technical skills, and I didn’t see much in the way of behavioral or project-experience questions.
