Average Positive Australia

After a recruiter screening call, I got scheduled for an online technical sequence. The first thing was an online assessment that blended a take-home-style front-end coding task with JavaScript. The questions felt like medium-hard LeetCode, but they were wrapped in a front-end context and backed by hidden test cases, so I couldn’t just rely on getting something that looked right.

After that, I had an additional online interview that went into the usual territory—behavioral questions that tried to surface how I work and what I value, rather than more code. Overall, the technical difficulty felt fairly average-to-challenging depending on the moment, but the vibe was consistent: solve the problem correctly under constraints, then be ready to explain my thinking.

Average Negative Australia

The first part of the process moved like clockwork, but the technical journey itself felt noisy and poorly calibrated. After recruiter screening, I went through an AI proficiency interview, and the whole point was to see whether I could effectively use tools like Co-Pilot or Cursor. The task wasn’t just to generate code—it also tested whether I could debug mistakes the AI made and understand what my own changes were doing.

Then the evaluation shifted into more traditional technical categories: a programming-language fluency exercise and a system design interview, followed by behavioral. The language test had me implementing a class from scratch based on what they provided, and while it didn’t feel impossibly hard, I did notice how much success depended on setting up my dev environment correctly and matching the expected language.

Technical Assessments

Candidates face a mix of technical assessments, including AI-assisted coding tasks, algorithm challenges, and programming language fluency tests, often requiring a strong grasp of JavaScript and problem-solving under time constraints.

System Design Interviews

System design rounds are a significant part of the process, where candidates are expected to design systems with a focus on architecture and component integration, often without clear requirements, which can lead to confusion.

Behavioral and Leadership Questions

Behavioral interviews focus on past experiences, leadership qualities, and communication skills, often requiring candidates to articulate their impact on teams and projects rather than just technical tasks.
