Easy Positive Gurgaon, Haryana

My interview leaned heavily into networking basics and simple concepts. I was asked what LAN and VAN are, and then I got into IP fundamentals like what an IP address is. There were also practical questions about what salary I expected, why I wanted to leave my previous organization, and what my role had been there.

Because the topics were foundational, the overall feel was easier to manage than many technical interviews. I did receive an offer. My reflection was that the role fit check was very centered on basic networking knowledge plus the usual employment background questions.

Difficult Positive Calcutta

I went through a three-round interview process that felt very technically heavy. First there was a technical screening round where they asked basic routing and switching questions. The second round lasted about an hour and shifted into topology and scenario-based questions on protocols like BGP, MPLS, and OSPF, which felt at a CCNP level.

The third round also lasted about an hour and went even deeper into network scenarios—covering BGP, MPLS, HSRP, STP/RSTP/MSTP, load balancing, VPN, tunneling, plus routing metrics. I also had to talk through things like VTP and how dynamic ARP works, handle subnetting, and even draw up network schematics from memory and explain how the pieces connect. Beyond pure networking, there were questions about leadership and how to handle skeptical customers, including how I’d prioritize incidents and describe times I’d gone beyond my responsibilities to help. I got an offer, but the reflection I kept was that the interview tested breadth and real depth, not just recall, and that made it genuinely difficult.
