I went through a pretty focused two-round loop as a fresher. After an initial recruiter interaction, I was pulled into a coding round that was split into two parts: a backend task with a basic integration to the frontend, and then a separate frontend assignment. The whole thing felt like they were checking whether I could move between layers rather than just solve a single isolated problem.
Once I cleared that, the next round was with the Directorate of Engineering. It started with the usual intro and then turned into a deep discussion of my past work—what projects I had actually worked on and what felt most challenging, including how I solved it. Then the technical part kicked in: I was given a handful of problems (around two to three) and asked to come up with an approach and a low-level design. After that, the conversation narrowed into backend-related questions and system design.

My path had a lot of distinct stages and each one had a different focus. I started with an HR screening round, then moved into an engineering manager screening that lasted about forty-five minutes. After that, I had two timed frontend and backend task rounds, both around two and a half hours each.
Next came an engineering manager round again for another forty-five minutes, and then a director-level conversation for another forty-five minutes. The last stage was HR for about half an hour.
