Average Negative Malaysia

I didn’t get far because the recruiter interactions themselves felt off from the start. Instead of a straightforward discussion about fit, I was met with comments that made my level of experience sound like it was being judged rather than evaluated. The tone felt belittling, and I never received anything that looked like constructive feedback.

What stuck with me most was that I was even told I was more suited for “machine dirty work,” which came across as disrespectful and unnecessary. Overall, the whole recruitment process felt like it was trying to demean rather than assess whether I could do the role. Even though my background may not have matched perfectly, the lack of professionalism and mutual respect made the experience unpleasant.

Difficult Positive Shanghai, Shanghai

After I connected with a recruiter, I was scheduled quickly for a two-round process. The first round was technical, and the second was with a manager. The overall experience sounded efficient, and at least in my scheduling stage the interviewer came across as nice.

During the technical portion, though, I felt like the interviewer hadn’t really reviewed my resume. That mismatch showed up as awkward questions I couldn’t answer, because they depended on experience I didn’t have. It threw me off more than the difficulty of the problems themselves, since I wasn’t sure what they were actually targeting.
