I remember how quickly it moved—everything took me less than two weeks from start to finish. The recruiter and the interviewers were pretty helpful and attentive, and they communicated expectations clearly without leaving me guessing. Because I was interviewing for a front-end role, the questions felt intentionally diverse, so I could show different strengths instead of getting funneled into a single type of problem.

I went through an algorithm round, then a React-focused technical segment, and then a combined JavaScript plus design round. After that, I had a behavioral conversation, and the interviewers made it easy to talk through my thinking. The overall feel was approachable and collaborative, and by the time I was done, I had a pretty complete picture of what my day-to-day might look like—especially compared to purely backend-style interviews I’d experienced elsewhere. The end result was still a no for an offer, but it didn’t feel chaotic or unfair; it felt like a well-run screen of my actual skill set.

I started by applying through the cold-apply route, and after that I got recruiter outreach to schedule a phone screen. The screen itself didn’t feel like it had any trick to it—it was mostly the usual “tell me about yourself” style conversation.

After the call, they sent me a coding challenge where they basically provided front-end page pictures and asked me to build them. I wasn’t super comfortable with CSS, so my implementation wasn’t great; I did get something working but made a critical mistake that could be fixed. I ended up getting an email saying I wouldn’t move forward, which was a pretty abrupt stop compared to how straightforward the early phone screen felt.
