My interview process felt disconnected from the role I was applying for. I went through a sequence of four interviews, and one of the steps was a personality test that didn’t feel like a real assessment—more like a casual quiz unrelated to professional work. The rest of the process included a pitch evaluation tied to working with a third-party development team.

Because of that mix, I never got a strong sense of how they were evaluating my day-to-day software engineering fit. I went in expecting clearer technical or role-specific evaluation, but the process leaned toward format and role logistics rather than the kind of concrete engineering discussion I associate with hiring for software roles.

My journey started with several phone calls and even a video interview. Everyone I spoke with was genuinely kind and thoughtful, and the questions felt well-aligned with the job.

The conversations weren’t dominated by coding. A lot of it was open-ended—talking through my personality and experience, and then getting into discussions with multiple hiring managers. After that, I had a short HR interview that focused mostly on expectations like salary and how I preferred the work environment.
