Average Negative United States

My process started with a recruiter conversation that felt easy and straightforward. I followed up and then got scheduled for a second round where I met two managers in the same interview session. The discussion was largely get-to-know-me style: they asked about my background and the projects I’d worked on, and it felt like a normal fit conversation.

The part that stood out was the tone from one of the managers. The interview felt hostile from their end without any clear reason, and it honestly threw me off so much that I pulled myself out right after the interview. I didn’t feel like I could take much signal from the conversation once the dynamic went sideways.

Average Positive Houston, TX

I had an online teams interview with four people, and the whole thing felt fairly “standard professional screen.” It was a panel format with one hiring manager and three process engineers. The questions were mostly about my experience, and they also wanted to understand why I was applying for the role and what about Black & Veatch interested me.

Even though it wasn’t framed as a deep technical grilling, I still had to be clear and structured about my past work. The tone felt positive and productive overall, and the main goal of the conversation seemed to be matching my background to the team’s work.
