Average Positive Singapore

My recruiter call first set expectations and outlined the interview process and compensation. After that, I went through two interview rounds that were conducted in English, though I noticed they cared if I could also speak Chinese. The difficulty felt average overall, and the questions were very grounded in my background.

In the HR screen, I was asked a business-style question about teamwork and my specific experience working with others. I also got asked what I knew about web3 and how my trading experience related to what the team does, plus whether I spoke Chinese. On the technical side, the engineer interview was mostly resume-based and conversational, but still technical. I got challenged on architectural decisions like why I used SQL instead of NoSQL, and I had to explain ACID compliance. There were also questions about serverless—what it is and how it actually works.

Difficult Positive Auckland, Auckland

My process started with three technical rounds, and it felt like they were stacking increasing levels of responsibility. I first went into a coding-style interview with my direct report equivalent, where I had to solve a LeetCode-style problem and explain my approach. I also got pulled into questions about my Java backend experience, so it wasn’t just algorithm talk—it was also about how I’d built systems.

The second round shifted into system design. I discussed scalability, trade-offs, and how to handle high concurrency scenarios in a large-scale setup. The third round was with the head of engineering and became more high-level: past projects, technical leadership, and how I approached cultural fit. After the technical rounds, HR contacted me to confirm salary expectations.
