Average Positive Chicago, IL

After applying, I moved through a fairly long loop that still felt respectful of my time. The recruiter communication was high quality and they were flexible with scheduling. I experienced a mix of role-specific and role-agnostic interviews, and the tone stayed focused on culture and alignment rather than trying to “catch me.” Across the conversations, interviewers came across as humble, curious, and empathetic.

I didn’t find the interviews unusually hard overall, but they were thorough. I spoke with multiple people as the process progressed, and the common thread was how the team values showed up in how the questions were framed and how the conversations were run. Even when I was trying to balance everything, the process felt organized enough to follow.

Difficult Positive Toronto, ON

My interview process felt like a long, structured push from the start, and it was clearly more difficult than a typical tech hiring loop. It began with a basic screening call focused on programming basics and patterns, then moved into a pair-programming style exercise where I had about an hour to build out a small feature using a cloud IDE.

After that, I did a remote “onsite” that was split into multiple behavioral and culture phases, with some technical aspects mixed in. I remember how explicitly the process emphasized culture fit—sometimes to a point that felt uncomfortable—so the conversations weren’t just about my engineering skills. Eventually I had a chat with the CTO that leaned more behavioral than technical. I was also aware that a founder-level “CEO” style discussion was floated as a possibility, which added to the sense that the later stages were heavily values-driven.
