Difficult Neutral New York, NY

My process felt rigorous from the start and required real preparation. I went in practicing both behavioral and technical questions and spent time learning more about the company itself, not just generic finance talking points. It also helped that I did networking with members of the firm, since the overall pathway felt competitive.

The timeline to reach later rounds also took longer than I expected, and the difficulty level stayed high throughout. I felt that the questions were tougher than what I was used to—more demanding compared to some other markets, and it took a lot of effort to keep up. Even though the interviews were still conversational in places, the bar felt noticeably high.

Average Neutral New York, NY

My interview schedule was extremely tight and very technical. I had two back-to-back segments—one technical for about 30 minutes, then behavioral for about 30 minutes.

In the technical portion, it felt like they wanted coverage across everything: valuation topics, dividend recap style questions, and free cash flow, with follow-ups that drilled into details. The way it was paced made it clear they expected me to know accounting thoroughly, going through scenarios step-by-step from year 0 onward until something didn’t add up.
