I went into the process expecting something aligned with the role, but it quickly felt disrespectful and mis-scoped. During my interview, the recruiter seemed impatient and would cut into my answers, jumping to other topics before I could finish. The tone made it hard to stay comfortable.
Even though the job was described as junior, the expectations felt like they required full mastery of advanced technologies and a wider range than frontend work alone. I also ran into the mismatch around what compensation and role level should be—one moment I was considered for a technical lead path, and when I questioned whether pay would match the title they were offering, the response suggested they weren’t treating it as disqualifying.

Difficult Positive India
The overall process I went through felt more extensive and evaluation-heavy than I expected. I moved from recruiter contact into a set of technical interviews after which I reached the client side with multiple rounds there. It was one of those experiences where the format felt like a full pipeline rather than a single conversation, and it took a meaningful amount of time.
The hardest part was the technical evaluation side. I remember going into it with confidence, but the questioning and tests leaned hard on core concept understanding and application, and it honestly felt like a lot of exam-style recall and technical specificity rather than anything that resembled real engineering work. Even so, I still felt like I learned things along the way and that the team was professional—at least the process itself was structured and the conversations stayed respectful.
