After a recruiter call, the process moved quickly into a technical interview first and then a separate conversation with the department director. It felt pretty smooth end-to-end, and I didn’t get the sense that anything was overly adversarial. The recruiter experience stood out to me as genuinely pleasant, and it set the tone for the rest of the interactions.
The second conversation with the director/hiring manager was about an hour and stayed conversational rather than stressful. I walked away feeling like I could actually have a normal discussion about my background and what the work would look like, instead of being grilled. Overall it felt low pressure and well structured, and the timing and flow made the whole thing feel easy to follow, even though I didn’t end up getting an offer.

Difficult Positive India
My process ran through three rounds with a clear progression. I started with a group discussion and a technical round on the same day, and then, if I made it through, the director round happened the next day. The timing made it feel like they were actively assessing me rather than stretching things out.
What surprised me was how immediate the group discussion feedback was. I received it within minutes right after I finished, and it essentially set up what I needed to do for the next interview step. The later round with the director was distinct from the earlier technical-style evaluation, but overall the entire process felt organized and professionally handled.
