My process started with the recruiter, and it quickly turned into a fairly structured set of rounds. I ended up doing five total interviews: three technical rounds, one system design round, and one behavioral conversation. The technical questions felt close to medium-level LeetCode, with a heavy tilt toward data structures and design-style problems, and I had to be ready to walk through my reasoning rather than just produce an answer.

Even when the questions were straightforward on paper, the vibe was very different by interviewer. In one technical round, the discussion felt a little flat, like the interviewer didn’t seem engaged, which made it harder to settle into a smooth flow. Across the rest of the loop, what stood out to me was the expectation of analysis—people seemed willing to probe how I thought and how I explained my approach.

I went through a process that felt unusually tied to a specific tech stack. After a behavioral discussion with HR, I was given a take-home assessment that had to be completed using Unity and C#. Once I finished it and it passed, the next stage shifted into a multi-part set of interviews that were all about applying that same knowledge in different ways.

I then had a technical interview with other software engineers where the questions leaned heavily on Unity, plus some coding focused on designing a game. After that, I did another round with a lead engineer that was more discussion-based—no coding—covering the take-home and my understanding of Unity. From there, I spoke with a product manager about product-related thinking, and then I had design-focused conversations with a game designer.

Technical Rounds

Candidates can expect a mix of coding questions, often based on data structures and algorithms, with a focus on problem-solving and reasoning rather than trick questions. The difficulty level varies but is generally described as average to difficult, with some rounds emphasizing specific technologies like Unity or Java.

System Design & Product Thinking

Some candidates reported a dedicated system design round, where they were asked to discuss architectural decisions and design trade-offs, often in relation to product outcomes. This aspect emphasizes the importance of connecting technical skills with broader product and business goals.
