Average Positive San Diego, CA

My first interview started with a fairly straightforward behavioral check. I talked through my background and projects that aligned with the role, and the conversation included my motivation for wanting to work at Apple. It didn’t feel like a rapid-fire quiz—more like a chance to ground my story.

Then the technical side got noticeably sharper. I had a phone screen that felt pleasant, but the next round was technical and asked me about automation process and designing a pick-and-place system. When I expected the following interview to be behavioral, I was surprised because it leaned heavily into technical material on stack-up analysis.

My Apple full-stack interview felt very split between frontend React fundamentals and backend Java Spring Boot design. It started with a React round where I covered basics like hooks, virtual DOM, and promises in JavaScript. Then the round turned into a practical design task: I was given data laid out like an array with five rows and asked to build a table view that would fetch data per row. After that, I had to extend the UI logic by adding next/previous controls with pagination.

The backend portion followed in the same session arc. I discussed Java Spring Boot and talked about how the frontend would connect to the backend through something like an API gateway. The questions stayed consistent with the frontend work in spirit—grounded in how requests flow, and how you’d structure an application so those features actually work end to end.
