My first interview touchpoint was pretty simple and structured. I showed up for a session where one interviewer handled the questions directly, and every question tied back to keywords from my CV. The environment felt formal but not hostile, and after the interview there was even free lunch and a feedback form.
Another time, I went for a smooth walk-in face-to-face sequence at the company location. It was just two rounds—one technical and one HR—and the questions stayed grounded in the role: JavaScript, Node.js, and MySQL. I had to explain concepts like closure and hoisting, and overall it felt like a clean evaluation of fundamentals rather than tricks.

I applied for a full stack/MEAN-style role and quickly got a scheduling email from HR. The next day I joined the online interview, and right away it felt misaligned: about 90% of the questions were SQL-focused, which made me feel like I was interviewing for a database-admin track instead.
I tried to stay open-minded since SQL is part of any stack, but the concentration of questions didn’t match what I understood the job to be. I’d worked with a broader technology range over my experience, so it was frustrating to feel like that context didn’t matter much in the questioning. The interviewer didn’t seem to factor in the wider set of technologies I’d used.
