After my recruiter call, the process stayed very structured and communicative, and it felt less like I was being evaluated and more like I was having a two-way conversation. I went through multiple stages where people were genuinely interested in my background and also took time to explain the company’s culture and what mattered to them. The vibe was professional, approachable, and surprisingly transparent about what would happen next.
A big part of the experience was practical role preparation. I had a mock discovery/cold-call style exercise where I got live feedback and then got to try again before debriefing. The hiring manager interview also leaned conversational while still digging into why AppFolio and why the role, and I remember being asked a focused set of questions about my experience and interest, not just generic resume review.

Average Positive Dallas, TX
I made it to the final round, and what stood out most was how genuinely the interviewers tried to get to know me as a person rather than just scanning for the right bullet points on my resume. The people I spoke with were great, and the conversations didn’t feel like a checklist.
By the time I reached that last stage, I felt like I had been seen as a whole candidate—my motivations, how I thought, and what I was looking for—so the overall tone was positive even though I didn’t end up landing the job.
