I ended up doing three separate interviews and the process felt unfinished after that. The first interview was with a lead who reviewed my work history. The second was more technical and it included two people. The last interview was a personality-focused discussion.

After the third round, I never heard back from the recruiter. I sent emails and tried calls, but there was zero response. The interviews themselves weren’t described as disastrous, but the lack of closure and the silence after putting in the time made the experience feel pretty rough. Without any communication, I never got an offer, and I walked away feeling stalled rather than evaluated.

I ended up in a multi-round interview process with lots of different people, including a recruiter, a hiring manager, the IT team plus a hiring manager again, and then higher-level leadership including the CISO and COO. I walked into it expecting a clearer definition of the role, but it became obvious that it wasn’t well defined by the time the interviews were underway.

By the end, the picture was much clearer: they seemed to be looking for a Network Security Engineer who could handle access control primarily. The timing around the decision also felt slow. Before the final leadership interview, they even told me they were preparing an offer, which made the later rejection feel more confusing.
