After a first call with HR, I was invited into a more structured sequence. There was an initial screening where I answered general questions about my background, then I moved on to an interview with a manager. That technical discussion covered how I approached a project and how I would handle expectations in a role, and it also got into concrete topics like defining REST API and design patterns.
On top of the architecture talk, we went through hands-on experience questions—whether I had worked with Docker, and whether I had any experience with LLM/AI/NLP. The overall difficulty felt in the average range, and the process felt like it was aimed at matching me to a specific client mission: an initial call to align my profile and expectations, followed by another step after selection/validation.

My process had the same frustrating rhythm: HR moved things along quickly to a test assignment, and I ended up putting in real, time-consuming effort before hearing anything back. After the initial call where they asked a few things like my expected CTC and explained what they wanted next, they shared a take-home assignment. I spent about five days working hard to deliver something strong, burning through nights to get it right.
After I submitted, I followed up for feedback and got a strange response: they said they didn’t have the budget. That didn’t make sense to me because the task had been assigned, and through the referral path I also got the sense my submission hadn’t even been reviewed. With another similar sequence, I was also sent a home test after the first interview—this time within five days—and it didn’t really align with the skills I’d described earlier, which made the whole request feel disconnected from the screening.
