My process started with phone. I had two telephonic interviews back to back across the hiring steps—first a conversation with an engineer to assess my skill set, and then a second call with someone from the team I’d likely work with. Both were designed to see whether I could fit their day-to-day, not just whether I could answer isolated technical questions.

The vibe was comfortable throughout. I remember feeling relaxed on the call where the interviewer was friendly and helped put me at ease, and I also got some puzzles mixed in with the technical discussion. The common theme across those conversations was that I needed my networking basics to be clear.

My first step was fairly early-stage but structured. I applied online and ended up with a phone interview after about four weeks. That call focused on CCNA basics and Python scripting, and it also leaned on covering what was on my resume.

Another round that followed a similar lightweight early screening feel was an HR call with quick logistics and timing questions, like when I would graduate and how long I could intern. Then I had a technical interview with a test engineer where we went over the day-to-day routine and the skills needed for the work.
