Difficult Positive Austin, TX

My path was shorter and leaned on early-stage screening and lighter structure compared to the more intense technical loops. I started with recruiter contact that moved quickly and felt welcoming, and then I received an assignment-style coding exercise that came with enough time to complete it. In another path, I got a Zoom coding interview where the problem itself was straightforward, but the interviewer kept interrupting me, which made it harder to focus.

On the more evaluation-heavy side, I also saw a setup where the process used a staged technical homework component and a follow-up interview, with behavioral questions added after. In one experience, a take-home was described as taking a few hours, but it ended up much longer for me and I wasn’t able to finish before the deadline. In another, I was told the screen and next steps in detail and prepared around a feature they cared about, but the actual question was more like a toy problem, and that mismatch threw me off badly enough that I didn’t perform well.
