Difficult Negative Indianapolis, IN

My interview process started out promising because the recruiter experience felt organized and I was excited about the opportunity. But once I hit the actual interviews, things became hard to take seriously. In one of my sessions, I was put on hold immediately, then the recruiter read questions off a script with no real back-and-forth, and I even felt like the interviewer wasn’t genuinely engaged with my background. The hiring manager part of the loop then turned into a time sink: late start, audio setup issues that weren’t my fault, and a discussion that seemed to avoid my real solution.

In another round, the interviewer felt dismissive and unhelpful—laughing at points, rushing the conversation, and even trying to “pre-answer” ideas before I’d had enough time to think. That same lack of clarity showed up elsewhere too: system-style prompts were framed like realistic Airtable features, but the constraints weren’t well explained, and I walked into rounds confused about what was being asked. I also ran into a case where a recruiter promised next steps for scheduling, then I received an auto-rejection after delays, with no meaningful explanation.
