What is a Systems Engineer at AERMOR?
As a Systems Engineer (or Systems Administrator) at AERMOR, you serve as the backbone of critical infrastructure for Department of Defense (DoD) clients, including the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) and NAVSEA networks. You are not just maintaining hardware; you are ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of mission-essential systems that support research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) initiatives. Your work directly impacts the operational readiness of government personnel who depend on secure, high-performance network environments.
This role is highly technical and requires a disciplined approach to security compliance. You will navigate the complexities of DoD IT requirements, including Risk Management Framework (RMF), STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides), and ACAS vulnerability scanning. Because you are working within sensitive environments, your ability to document processes, manage configurations, and communicate technical risks to non-technical stakeholders is just as vital as your ability to troubleshoot a Linux kernel or a VMware cluster.
